2 weeks???

I can't believe I haven't updated this thing in two weeks!! Wow! Well, I've been crazy busy, so I haven't had much time to think about updating. I have some great news though! In the past two weeks, I've lost an additional 2.6 pounds. At this point, I am 9 pounds from my Weight Watchers Goal weight. I am determined to get there by my friend's wedding on September 13. I hope I can be close to Lifetime by that point, but I'll take just reaching my goal by then.

I'm a bit worried about my weigh in this week. I spent the weekend in Atlanta for a bachelorette party and we ate at Cheesecake Factory on Saturday. It was delicious and I tried to pick a somewhat healthy option there. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and only ate about 1/4 of the chicken and 1/2 the rice. I did indulge in a slice of cheesecake (vanilla bean is delicious!!) and 1 fruity mixed drink. However, I also spent over 6 hours shopping and walking around in the heat in Atlanta that day. We also did more shopping for about 3 hours yesterday. I am just focusing on getting my water and fruits and veggies in for the rest of the week. I'll try to update on Thursday night after my weigh in.

1.8 BABY!!!

WOO HOO!!! I am down 1.8 this week!! That brings me back to 176.6. I am only .8 away from my lowest weight since starting WW. I am going to surpass that this week!!! :D

It's been almost a week since I updated...

I can't believe it's been that long since I updated! I have my weigh in tonight and I peeked at the scale this morning and it is showing me 1.2 down since last week. Hopefully, that will still be the case at 5:30 tonight!

I am doing really well with my journaling and water this week. I got a good swift kick in the rear on Monday when my friend reminded me that we only had 2 months until the wedding we are both in. Yeah, that's enough to give me the kick in the butt I needed! I chugged my water, walked at lunch, at a delicious salad with grilled chicken, pears, cranberries, candied nuts (1 tbsp), baby spinach, grape tomatoes, feta cheese and a blueberry balsamic vinaigrette. YUM!!

Yesterday was a coworker's birthday. My boss ordered pizza for everyone and I planned ahead and brought a big salad with me. I had 1.5 slices of pizza and a big salad. When I got hungry later, I had a Weight Watchers 2 point snack bar. Last night, my husband decided to fix pasta for dinner. I knew if I ate that after eating pizza earlier in the day that my weigh-in tonight would not go well. I had a bowl of cheerios and a half a PB & J sandwich. I'm going to have the pasta tonight for dinner.

For breakfast today, I had a bowl of multi-grain cheerios and a banana with skim milk. My lunch is going to be awesome! I bought a pre-made/pre-portioned bowl of chicken tortilla soup from Kroger today. The whole thing is 2 points!! I am also having another yummy salad with baby spinach, feta, turkey bacon, cranberries, almonds, and Lite Raspberry-Walnut Vinaigrette. My goal for today with water is to have my 8 glasses of water down by 2:00. I don't want to drink a lot much past then since I have my Weigh In at 5:30.

well, I guess that's enough for one post! I need to go fill up my water bottle again and then get back to work!

HYC Check-in and a weigh-in delay...

Checking in for the Healthy You Challenge and letting you know that I will not be weighing in until Thursday this week. We didn't have our normal meeting yesterday because of the holiday, so I am going on Thursday to weigh in.

I had a bowl of lucky charms this morning for breakfast and I have a salad with feta cheese, turkey bacon, and lite raspberry walnut vinaigrette as well as a Del Monte Harvest Selections Chili with Beans that has 2 full vegetable servings in it. It's only 6 points and very filling and deilcious. :D We are having salad, rice and pork loin for dinner tonight, so that will be my lunch tomorrow. YUM! I am trying to focus on getting all my water in for the day before I leave work.

Well, I'll update again on Friday to let you know how my weigh-in went on Thursday!

Gain...big time!

So I totally just threw the ww plan out the window last week. It showed on the scale with a 2.8 pound gain. OOPS O:) Oh well, I deserved it and I'm still struggling to get back on plan completely. I'm going to start walking again at lunch and I'm going home tonight to start using my Total Gym again. I am in a wedding in 11 weeks and another one 6 weeks later. I want to look great in both weddings and know I can tone up by then!! I've got to get focused on my eating and working out. I'm going to get back into my water too. I've been drinking Crystal Light at home, but I've still had diet coke and sweet tea this week too. Time to start cutting it out a bit more!!

Anyway, here's my late HYC check-in!! Better late than never though!

I'm shocked!!...and my HYC check-in...

Ok, so I weighed in last night fully expecting a HUGE gain and somehow, I managed to maintain!!! I am so pumped! Jason got the Total Gym set up last night, so I spent about 20 minutes trying it out. I'm going to work on it for hopefully 45 minutes tonight. The only problem I have with it is that we don't have the foot straps for it, so I'm trying to find these online. So far, I haven't had any luck. If nothing else, I'll just call the company and see if they can sell them to me separately. They also have an ab crunch thing and some press up and dip bars that you can buy too. I'm going to look into it once I get the hang of the basics on this thing.

My throat has been pretty scratchy lately, so I hope I'm not trying to get a sinus infection. Right now, it's just my throat that's bothering me. We'll see how it goes.

My daughter is so close to crawling. Maybe she'll decide to do it tomorrow for her 9-month birthday! I think Jason will have to spend some time completely baby-proofing the house tomorrow since he's off!! We had the basics done, but now it's time for the nitty gritty. ;)

I picked up the May issue of "Cooking Light" magazine yesterday. It has so many great looking recipes. I'll try to post the recipes I try and a review as we get to them. There is a recipe for Three Cheese Baked Penne that looks amazing. If you get a chance, check out this month's issue!!

Mother's Day...

Yesterday was my first "official" mother's day. My daughter was born August 14, 2007, so this was my first Mother's Day with her in my arms. I still count last year as my first mother's day b/c I was a mother. Anyway, Abby gave me my Mother's Day present a day early. Saturday morning, she said, "Mama" for the first time!!! I was and still am so excited!!! :D

My Mother's Day went really well. We got up and went to church and then over to my parents' house for hamburgers and cake (My sister graduated from college this weekend and we were eating leftovers from her party). My sister gave me a gorgeous bracelet from Things Remembered with Abby's initials on it. My husband got me an iPod Nano!!! It should be here sometime this week. We ordered one from Apple.com that's refurbished. I wanted a pink one, but they don't make the 4 gb in pink. I got the refurbished 8gb pink one for the same price as a brand new 4gb!!! I can't wait for it to get here so I can use it!! :D

Anyway, I'm really not looking forward to my weigh in tonight. I had hamburgers and cake twice this weekend, Jason fixed a steak for dinner last night (which I thoroughly enjoyed), and I haven't been drinking my water like I should. I also met some friends at McAlister's Deli for lunch and had a baked potato and chili. Delicious, but not the healthiest item on the menu... My goal for this week is to get back into drinking 2 liters of water each day. We brought the Total Gym home with us on Friday, but haven't had time to get it into the house yet. It's just sitting out in the garage. I am going to ask my husband to get it set up in the basement tonight before I get home from my WW meeting so I can work out on it tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I'll update everyone on my WI tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I am SUPER excited!!

I talked to my mother-in-law yesterday afternoon and she told me she got a Total Gym at a garage sale for $20! She doesn't have room for it, but she's going to sell it to us for $20!!! I am so excited about this b/c I don't have to go anywhere to workout now. :D

I've done pretty well with my food today.

BREAKFAST:
Cheerios Oat Crunch cereal with skim milk.
Weight Watchers Chocolate Caramel snack bar.

SNACK:
Jell-O Dulce De Leche Sugar Free pudding

LUNCH:
Progresso beef and noodle soup - 4 points
PB&J on homemade hawaiian bread - 5 points
Apple - 1

SNACK:
Yoplait Light Yogurt - 2
Fiber One Bar - 2
Strawberries - 1

DINNER:

I'm not sure...I think Jason thawed some chicken out.

OK, so I'll post again in a couple days. :D

Another .4 gone!!!

Woo Hoo!!! I lost another .4 pounds last night bringing me to 176.6. My goal for this week is to lose 1 pound. I know that is easily doable and I am super excited and motivated to do it!! I would love to be as close to 170 as possible by Memorial Day. I don't expect to lose 6.6 pounds in the next 3 weeks, as nice as that would be, my body just doesn't lose weight that way. I am aiming for at least 1 pound a week, and maybe I'll lose more. ;)

My goal is to get back into walking on my lunch breaks this week. I can't do it today because I donated blood this morning, but I'm definitely bringing my shoes the rest of this week! I joined the Healthy You Challenge and I am so excited about it!! I really hope it will keep me on track. Well, I don't really have too much else to say. I hope everyone has a great OP week!!!

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Woo Hoo!!!

Another .4 gone!!! I was really nervous about my weigh in on Monday because when I had weighed in on Monday morning at home, I was only showing a .2 loss. I was worried after I ate and went about my day, I might show a gain. But, no!! I lost .4 pounds! :D

My goals for this week are to track everything I eat and get at least 2 liters of water a day. I didn't quite hit that 2 liter mark yesterday, but I'm going to make up for at least 1 liter today and aim for 3. If I make it, that's great, and if not, that's fine too. I would like to lose at least 1 pound this week, if not more. I am 1.4 away from my lowest weight so far on WW and I would really love to surpass it. I just know that if I set a goal for 2 pounds and don't make it, I'll be really discouraged and might eat something I don't really need. 1 pound for the week is a much more attainable goal to reach.

I have 13 weeks until the first wedding I'm in. I want to look awesome!! If I lose 1 pound each week, that will put me 4 pounds above my goal. I reached my first mini goal of staying on plan for 2 weeks on Monday. I am going to get my nail polish this weekend. :D Next goal: Average 10,000 steps per day for 3 weeks. So far today, I have 3332 and I haven't gone out for a walk. I think I may need to lower the daily steps for now to 7500 until I can get there on a daily basis for a couple of weeks. Once I hit that, then I can up it to the 10,000. I think that's what I'm going to do. So, my new goal is 7500 steps per day for at least 3 weeks and I can get some new workout shorts. When I get to 10,000 steps per day for at least 3 weeks, I can get a workout shirt to go with them.

I am going to start working on doing some strength training too. At this point, I need to try to stick with dumb bells and my own body resistance. I am going to do push-ups, squats, lunges, biceps curls, shoulder raises, shoulder presses, rows, triceps dips and tricpes extensions. I will work on these things 2 days a week to start out. I am going to do 3 sets of 12 weight exercises and 25 lunges and squats each day. As far as the push-ups are concerned, I am going to do as many as I can without falling on my face! Once I can do 10 fairly easily, I'll start adding a few as needed.

I am much more encouraged with my weight loss over the past two weeks and it just goes to show that journaling really does work!!

Anyway, I need to get back to work. I'll try to post in a couple days.

A week and a half...

OK...so, I've been a major slacker and haven't posted on here in over a week and a half. I'm going to do better, I promise!! So, for my big news...last week at weigh in, I lost 2 pounds!! I was ecstatic!! I am hoping for a half a pound today. Maybe it will happen. I got on the scale at home this morning and it showed .2 down, so that's good. I really struggled with my journaling and my water this past week. I did make some good choices food wise though. We go to my in-law's every other Friday night and my mother-in-law finally put my father-in-law on a diet, so that's mega helpful to me!! They love to eat all that yummy southern comfort food. Not such a great thing for my diet/waistline!

I am trying to get at least 1 liter of water in today (getting ready to go fill my bottle up) before 3:00 pm. I'm heading out right now to go down to Chick-fil-A for a grilled chicken salad. YUMMY!!!

I am going to challenge myself to lose 7 pounds in the next 8 weeks. That will put me with 8 pounds to reach my goal. :D I am also going to challenge myself to at least update this thing twice a week!

I'm so frustrated!!

So I have been feeling a bit frustrated lately with Weight Watchers. I was on plan for the most part last week, with the exception of Friday. I had over 2 liters of water EVERY day but Sunday. I ate sensibly and walked 4 days last week. I went to my weigh in on Monday and I was up a freaking pound!!! That brings my grand total loss to a whopping 2 pounds in 17 weeks.

I was literally in tears after my meeting. I talked to my leader and she is supposed to call me tomorrow just to check in and see how things are going. She told me to journal everything and bring that in for her next Monday so she can see if there's something I might need to change on my eating. If I haven't lost at least 1 pound next week, I'm going to call my doctor to get checked out to make sure there isn't something going on with my thyroid or something else.

So, instead of pigging out, I put on my big girl panties and planned my meals for yesterday. Last night, we went to a Mexican restaurant and I tried to eat as healthy as possible. I had a cheese enchilada and a tamale with spanish rice. Jason and I shared their cheese dip and I ate about 3/4 of my tamale and my enchilada. I don't think I ate even half of my rice. I was stuffed when we came home. I always snack in the evenings, even if I'm not really all that hungry. I know that's a habit I need to break. I am working on it!! I decided that since I had such a big, heavy dinner, I would only fix some water. So, that's what I did and I didn't snack!! :D

While watching the Biggest Loser finale, I went into the kitchen to get my breakfast and lunch ready. I fixed 1 cup of cheerios with 1/2 cup light vanilla soy milk. I also packed a banana to sllice up on my cereal. For lunch, I cut up a cantaloupe and chopped some strawberries. I also planned on having some pretzel rods and a 3 point ham sandwich. However, when I opened the bread, it was completely moldy!! I was so mad! I just decided to get a Chick-fil-A grilled chicken salad with fat free honey mustard dressing and a baked potato with margarine. It was delicious and only 10.5 points for all that! Jason is making chicken and dumplings for dinner tonight and I am figuring a 1 cup serving to be about 6 points. I am estimating on the high side since I'm not sure what all he puts into the recipe. He's fixing green beans to go with it and I'm going to drizzle those with a bit of olive oil to get one of my oils in for the day. After all that, I still have 1.5 points to eat!!

I am planning on going home and jogging after dinner for about 30 minutes. I walked to CFA and back today for about a 20 minute walk. I figure with a 5 minute walking warm up and 5 minutes to cool down, that's 30 minutes of walking too!! :D

I am going to take my measurements tonight and retake them on May 1. After that, I'll only take them once a month. I just need a starting point and don't want to wait another 14 days to figure it out! ;)

I joined a group on the WW message boards to be at Goal by my daughter's first birthday. That pretty much give me 4 months to lose 20 pounds. It's doable. I may not make it to my goal, but I'd love to lose at least 15 pounds by her first birthday. I also want to tone up, so that will help.

I have 2 weddings I'm in within 6 weeks of each other. The first one is on August 2, so I've got to buckle down and get going with my exercise! I'm going to start jogging and work up to running. I'm also going to get started with a strength training program I can do at home with little to no additional equipment needing to be purchased.

OK, so I think this post is long enough!! Can I earn AP's for typing so much?? ;)

Until tomorrow,

Kimberly

I drank 3 full bottles of water yesterday!!! That's 3 liters!! I am so excited about that! I also walked for an hour yesterday. I walked 30 minutes at work and 30 minutes last night with my husband and daughter. I am so glad the weather is finally warming up so we can enjoy these walks at night.

My plan for today is below.
Breakfast: small banana and weight watchers bagel with lite butter and 1 pack jelly
Snack: 100 calorie packs banana muffins
Lunch: Grilled chicken with sweet potatoes and apples, Weight Watchers yogurt
Snack: Microwave popcorn
Dinner: Pasta with Zesty Pasta sauce and smoked sausage, salad
Water: 3 liters
Exercise: 30 minutes walk at work

Another Weigh in...

I weighed in last night at my meeting and I was up .2 pounds. I really consider this maintaining since it is so close to a 0. I was happy with this because I ate at the Olive Garden for lunch on Sunday and had pasta. I know the scale will reflect a loss next week. I got all my water in yesterday and I am already starting on today's. I'm about 1/3 of the way through my first 1 liter bottle and my goal is to be finished with it before I head to lunch. Once I'm back from lunch, I'll refill it and finish it before I leave for the day.

I am using today as a "cheat" day and that seems to help me stay on plan for the rest of the week. For breakfast, I had 1 scrambled egg with 2 slices of bacon and 2 pieces of wheat toast. I'm going to go to a Japanese place and get teriyaki chicken and rice for lunch. I think we are having pork loin and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight, so that should be fairly healthy. We found a recipe in my WW cookbook for a sweet potato casserole with sweet potatoes and apples thinly sliced and covered in a brown sugar/apple juice mixture. It's so good and 4 points for 1/4 of the casserole!!! I'll have those leftovers for lunch tomorrow with a salad and some fruit.

I am going to try to walk for at least 30 minutes this evening with Abby. I'll take her for a walk around the neighborhood after she eats dinner. Maybe I'll even be able to convince Jason to come with us. I'm going to try to watch at least part of the Lady Vols game tonight. They are trying for their 8th National Championship!! I think I'll try to either pop some popcorn or fix a big glass of ice water to keep the cravings at bay.

I got my new Shape magazine in the mail yesterday and I'm anxious to try some of the new workouts listed in it. It's such a thick magazine this month. I can't wait to read all the articles and try some of the recipes. I'm lucky that my husband is willing to try some newer healthier recipes. That is so helpful when trying to lose weight.

Well, I guess I probably ought to get to work!! I'll try to check in again in a couple of days to update how I'm doing.

Stress...

So yesterday, my husband got some not so good news. He is a route driver for a uniform company. He was informed yesterday that his route is being consolidated with another one and he will no longer have a route. They are making him a jumper, but that means he is basically on call and has no control over his hours. Also, his pay won't be quite as much as it used to be.

When I found out about this, I immediately wanted some chocolate. I went to the little coffee shop down the street looking for a brownie. They were out of brownies, but had chocolate muffins. I bought one of those. Even though it was stale, I ate pretty much the whole thing. Then, I came home, had 3 slices of pillsbury pizza and 2 brown sugar poptarts.

I am so a stress eater!! ugh...I'm pretty disgusted with myself. Oh well...today is a new day.

I had a Weight Watchers bagel with light butter and a banana for breakfast. For my morning snack, I had 1.5 oz cheese and I've had 33.8 oz water already. I'm going out to lunch today, but I'm getting a grilled chicken sandwich and diet coke. I have a Fiber One bar, some grapes, and some microwave popcorn for later if I need all that food. We're going to the in-laws' tonight for dinner so they can spend some time with DD. I'm not sure what she is making, but I'll make it work whatever it is.

I have to go wedding dress shopping with one of my best friends tomorrow morning. She's getting married in August, but just got engaged 2 weeks ago. Her sister couldn't make it into town until this weekend and she didn't want to go without her. I am going to take my water bottle with me tomorrow and keep it in my car (I can't take it into the bridal shop). I will drink at least 33 oz before I head back home. I am going to try to keep myself focused on getting my water in for the rest of the weekend and work on eating lots of fruits and veggies.

I am going to try to take a walk or do some crunches or play with Abby if the urge to eat comes on due to stress this weekend. I need to stay focused!! I am in two weddings in the next 4.5 months and I want to look HOT!!!

My goals for the month of April:
  • Do 100 crunches per day
  • Do 25 squats and 50 lunges per day
  • Walk 4 days per week at lunch
  • Focus on getting 64 ounces of water in EVERY DAY
  • Eat more fruits and veggies

Ultimately, for this month, I'd like to lose 7 pounds this month. Hopefullly, I'll be well on my way at my next weigh in.

Starting Over!!!

My name is Kimberly and I am a 26 year old wife and mother. I live in Tennessee and love living here. I am a true Southern girl at heart and couldn't imagine living anywhere else! I've had about 3 weight loss blogs in the past 2 years. I never can seem to keep them updated. This time is going to be different. I am going to update this blog at least once a week with my weigh-in results and anything else I feel like talking about.

I am following Weight Watchers Flex Plan. I have been on WW since December 17, 2007. I joined to lose the weight I kept on after having my daughter in August 2007. So far, I've lost 3.2 pounds. My Memorial Day goal is to be at 167 pounds. I am currently at 178.2 and working toward a 2 pound loss this week (I hope!). My first goal is to hit my 10% weight of 163.4. My WW goal at this point is to hit 160. I will reassess everything when I get to that point and see how I feel.

My focus this week has been on trying to get more fruits and vegetables in and also get at least 64 oz water EVERY DAY!!! I have discovered the crystal light to go packets as well as the South Beach Diet ones too. The SBD ones have 30 calories, 3 grams of protein, and 5 grams of FIBER!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Please join me on this amazing trip to skinnyness. If you feel like it, any comments are welcome, especially the ones of an encouraging variety!! ;)
